GIVE YOUR SCHOOL COMMUNITY 5 HOURS OF VOLUNTEER WORK THIS YEAR. 

Let’s work together to get more involved in our school to make it a better place for students and staff. 

Everyone is busy. But can you commit to giving just 5 hours of your time to Black Mountain Primary or Elementary this year? In the wake of Helene, we received support from volunteers from all over the United States. Now, can we give back to our own community? There are jobs that require no more than a few hours a month, some that are seasonal, and some that require a routine commitment. Parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, neighbors, and friends are encouraged to get involved!

As a reminder, the new volunteer process is in effect for the 2026–2027 school year.

All volunteers must complete the following before they may volunteer in our schools:

• School Volunteer Application – Completed through the individual school’s website under Our School > Volunteer.
• Secure Volunteer Background Check – After the school volunteer application has been approved, the school volunteer coordinator will send the applicant instructions to complete the required background check. If the volunteer already has an approved Secure Volunteer background check, they do not need to complete another one.
